Purpose: The keyboard is the primary device for inputting data into a computer. Teaching students to enter data accurately and quickly is accomplished with Keyboarding. This course will:

  • Familarize students with the keyboard layout, alphabetic, numeric, special purpose, and function keys.
  • Give student the opportunity to develop touch keyboarding skills and to integrate touch keyboarding into other subject areas in which keyboards/computers are used.
  • Improve spelling, vocabulary, punctuation, creative expression, handwriting, and fine motor skills.
  • Introduce students to Microsoft Office 2007.

Course Description: The academic focus of the Keyboarding is increasing speed and accuracy while touch keyboarding. Students will also learn business document formatting, MLA reports, tables,

Expectations: Students will follow all district, school and classroom rules.
