Purpose: Information Technology in a Global Society
explores how people are affected by technology
systems already in use and those planned for the
future. The course is the study and
evaluation of the impacts of information technology
(IT) on individuals and society. It explores the
advantags and disadvantages of the access
and use of digitized information at the local and
global level. ITGS provides a framework for the
student to make

ITGS Aims to:
  • enable students to evaluate social and ethical considerations from the use of IT by individuals, families, communities, organizations and societies at the local and global level
  • develop an understanding of the capabilities of current and emerging IT systems and to evaluate their impact on a range of stackeholders
  • enable students to apply their knowledge of existing It systems to various scenarieos and to make informed judgements about the effects of IT developments on them
  • encourage students to use their knowledge of IT systems and practical IT skills to justify It solutions for a specifies client or end-user.

Expectations: As an advanced course,
students are expected to complete
projects on time, practice and use the
touch typing technique, read assigned articles
and provide a written response, and learn to
think creatively and critically to solve problems .
